Our Pupil Chaplaincy Team plays a central role in the spiritual life of St Augustine's, helping to lead and promote prayer, worship and faith throughout our school community. Inspired by the example of Jesus, our chaplains serve others with kindness, compassion and commitment, encouraging everyone to grow closer to God.
Pupil chaplains are ambassadors for the Catholic life and mission of the school. The plan and lead our daily broadcast first thing in the morning which is shared with our whole school community. They help to prepare and lead prayer and liturgy, organise prayer spaces, support class Celebration of the Word, and encourage opportunities for reflection across the school. Through their leadership, they help create a prayerful and welcoming environment where all members of the community can encounter God's love.
The chaplaincy team also plays a key role in promoting Catholic Social Teaching through charitable fundraising, awareness campaigns and acts of service. They encourage pupils to respond to the needs of others locally and globally, putting faith into action through practical support and outreach.
Our Chaplaincy Team lead by example, demonstrating Gospel values in their words and actions. Through their service, they develop confidence, responsibility and leadership skills while helping to strengthen the faith life of our school. They are passionate about helping others to pray, reflect and live out our mission of placing Christ at the centre of all that we do.
As leaders within our Mission Leadership Team, our pupil chaplains help ensure that prayer, worship and service remain at the heart of school life, inspiring others to follow Christ's example and make a positive difference in the world.
