The Reading Champions are a team of pupil leaders who inspire a love of reading throughout our school community. They promote reading for pleasure, encourage others to explore new books and authors, and help create a positive reading culture where everyone can develop a lifelong love of literature. They support Mrs. Graham to ensure our library as well as the reading areas around school, including outdoors, are inviting to all, encouraging a love of reading.
Linked to our Mission Leadership, Reading Champions bring our school values and the principles of Catholic Social Teaching to life through their leadership. They recognise the dignity of every learner by supporting and encouraging others in their reading journey, promote the common good by helping to foster a community of enthusiastic readers, and show solidarity by sharing their passion for books with pupils of all ages.
Reading Champions may recommend books, support reading activities, help organise events and act as positive role models who demonstrate a commitment to learning. Through their service, they help ensure that reading is celebrated across the school, enabling all pupils to grow in knowledge, imagination and confidence while living out our mission each day.
Our Reading Champions this year are: Scarlett, Rhylee, Ashton, Esmae, Felicity, Anaiya and Quinn.
